Frequently Asked

Bionics & Accessibility

How does a myoelectric prosthetic arm work?

A bionic arm, also known as a myoelectric prosthetic, uses electrical signals from your muscles to control the artificial limb. Sensors built into the prosthesis detect muscle activity when you wear it, and these signals are translated into smooth, natural movements.
The Angel Hand is a highly advanced bionic arm that offers multiple intuitive grip patterns. Depending on how you flex your muscles, the Angel Hand responds with specific hand movements allowing for up to eight functional grip modes to handle everyday tasks more easily and naturally.

Why Are Prosthetics So Expensive?

Modern prosthetic arms especially advanced ones like myoelectric limbs can be incredibly expensive. because they combine complex engineering, custom design, and high-quality materials. While the Angel Hand from Bendita Bionics is up to three times more affordable than many traditional myoelectric prosthetics, we understand that the cost can still place a heavy burden on families.
At Bendita Bionics, our mission is to make bionic technology more accessible to people with limb differences all over the world. We believe no one should be held back by cost when it comes to mobility and independence.

What Is a 3D-Printed Hand?

A 3D-printed hand is a prosthetic made using advanced 3D printing technology, which allows us to create custom designs that fit each person perfectly.
At Bendita Bionics, we use clinically approved 3D printing to make sure your prosthetic is not only a great fit but also lightweight and comfortable enough to wear all day. It’s also much more affordable than traditional prosthetics so more people around the world can access life-changing bionic technology.
We’re here to make prosthetics that feel good, work well, and are within reach.

Where is the product manufactured?

All our bionic devices are engineered and manufactured in Singapore.

Angel Hand

What is the Angel Hand from Bendita Bionics?

The Angel Hand from Bendita Bionics is a next-generation bionic hand designed to help individuals with upper-limb differences regain hand function through advanced, intuitive technology. It's a myoelectric prosthetic, meaning it picks up electrical signals from the user’s remaining muscles to control the hand’s movements allowing for natural, responsive gestures like gripping, holding, and pinching.
What makes the Angel Hand stand out is its lightweight, 3D-printed design, which allows for a comfortable, personalized fit, and its affordability compared to many traditional bionic arms. It also features multiple grip modes and smart control systems, making it practical for everyday tasks.
Created by Bendita Bionics, the Angel Hand is part of a mission to make high-quality prosthetics more accessible, customizable, and user-friendly for people around the world.

How much does the Angel Hand cost?

The cost of the Angel Hand from Bendita Bionics varies depending on where you live and the package or customizations you choose. For exact pricing and support options, it’s best to contact Bendita Bionics directly.

I want to get a Angel Hand, what are the steps?

To get started, simply register your interest on our website. If you qualify (being over 8 years old with a below-elbow limb difference), we’ll reach out and connect you with the closest registered prosthetics clinic. There, you’ll have an initial consultation to explore the Angel Hand and see if it’s the right match for you. Remember, the Angel Hand is available for purchase only through these authorized clinics.

How Does the Angel Hand Work?

The Angel Hand is a myoelectric prosthesis. When you intentionally flex certain muscles in your residual limb, EMG sensors inside the Angel Hand pick up the tiny electrical signals your muscles produce. These signals let you control different grips with precise and natural movements, giving you smooth, proportional control over the hand.

How Do I Get an Angel Hand for My Child, Relative, or Friend?

Simply register their details on our website. If they meet the requirements (below elbow limb difference and aged 8 or older), we’ll contact you to connect them with the nearest registered prosthetics clinic. From there, they’ll attend an initial consultation to learn more about the Angel Hand and determine if it’s the right fit.

Can the Angel Hand be used by people with limb differences that are above-elbow or have a partial hand, such as missing fingers or a thumb?

The Angel Hand is designed for people with both below-elbow and above-elbow limb differences. For above-elbow users, it can be paired with a motorized elbow unit to allow more natural arm movement and enhanced functionality.
However, the Angel Hand isn’t suitable for individuals with partial hand differences, like missing fingers or a thumb, since it requires a residual limb below the elbow to detect muscle signals effectively.

Who can use the Angel Hand?

The Angel Hand is suitable for individuals with below-elbow or above-elbow limb differences.

Elbow System

What is the Bendita Bionics Motorized Elbow?

The Bendita Bionics Motorized Elbow is an advanced prosthetic solution developed for individuals with above-elbow (transhumeral) limb differences. It is designed to restore natural arm movement by using motorized joint control, allowing users to flex and extend their elbow smoothly and intuitively. When paired with the Angel Hand, it creates a complete upper-limb system that closely mimics the motion of a natural arm, offering improved independence and quality of life.

How does the motorized elbow function?

The motorized elbow operates primarily through EMG (electromyography) signal detection, where sensors inside the prosthetic socket pick up muscle signals from the residual limb to control smooth, proportional elbow movement. Alternatively, it can also be controlled using a shoulder flexion mechanism, allowing users without reliable EMG signals to operate the elbow by moving their shoulder. The system processes these inputs in real time, enabling lifelike motion that adapts to the user’s pace and strength. The elbow also includes a lock function to hold the arm steady in desired positions.

Who Can Benefit from the Bendita Bionics Motorized Elbow?

The Bendita Bionics Motorized Elbow is designed primarily for individuals with above-elbow (transhumeral) limb differences who seek greater independence and natural arm movement. It benefits users who have sufficient residual limb muscles to generate EMG signals, allowing intuitive control of the elbow joint. For those who may not have reliable EMG signals, the motorized elbow can also be operated using a shoulder flexion mechanism, broadening its accessibility.
